Volunteers Helping Out

The Collingwood Homework Club is looking for volunteers to tutor one-on-one with primary and secondary students in a supervised community space. Tutoring takes place from 6pm to 7:30pm on Wednesdays during school term, with most tutors volunteering weekly or fortnightly.

We're looking for people from all sorts of backgrounds. We're particularly keen on people comfortable working with younger primary school students and those with a strong background in secondary school maths who can also tutor in a variety of subjects.

Tutors are expected to obtain a Working with Children check (free, we can help with forms), or be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Please send us an email with "recruit" in the subject line if you wish to join.

Students Signing Up

Due to the popularity of the program, we presently have a waiting list for students. Each term, the Committee looks at attendances, available space, student needs and tutor numbers to manage the queue. Please get in touch if you wish to add your name to our list.
